Health

Hey there! I hope you find this section to be eye-opening, motivating, and convicting.

I will continue to add more and more, so please check back often for updates!

If you had asked me a few years ago to define health, I would have said it was about eating the right foods and getting regular exercise. It was about taking a multi-vitamin, drinking plenty of water, and going to the doctor when I got sick.

While those are all good practices, I now understand that looking at health through such a narrow lense is dangerously limited and extremely closed-minded. There is so much more we need to know and need to be doing if we want to achieve our best health and quality of life.

I am so thankful to have this platform to share with you what I am learning and experiencing. As I have said many times – I can’t NOT share this stuff!

And so . . .hold on to your hats, folks, because this is gonna be a wild ride. At least I hope so.

Disclaimer

I am not a medical professional, nor do I hold any credentials in the health or wellness field. Therefore, what I share here is not intended to be medical advice.

I dove headfirst (and quite naively) into the health and wellness world almost 5 years ago. At that time, I was a couple of years into my sixties. I considered myself in good health by most standards, and thankfully, I had no major issues (at least that I was aware of). But . . . I just didn’t feel good.

To be honest, I believed I felt and looked exactly how someone in my phase of life was supposed to feel and look. I had very low energy. Any muscle mass I might have had once-upon-a-time was long gone. And I had talked myself into believing that my muffin top should be worn as a badge of honor. After all, I had given birth to two babies, survived menopause, and had gone through an extremely difficult life situation. And let’s not forget . . . I was a grandmother for heaven’s sake! What did I expect?

And so, what about you, dear reader? How would you describe your current health condition? How do you feel? What beliefs are you holding onto regarding your own health and wellness?

No matter our individual health situations, we would probably all agree that the topic of health is daunting. It can be overwhelming, discouraging, frustrating, and downright confusing. Whether you are looking to improve your health, or just feel better, or do a complete overhaul, there is A LOT of information out there these days.

So, where do we even start? And, more importantly, who in the world do we believe?

As we move forward, I will tell you about my health journey, what I am learning (most of which I was completely clueless about), and how my life has changed. I will share how I went from just accepting the way things were “supposed” to be to becoming empowered and taking control of my health destiny.

To make for easier reading, I have created sub-sections. Simply click on a section that interests you; however, I hope you read each one, as each section is a small piece of a much bigger and telling story.
